CHICKEN DIM SUM RECIPE


In this recipe article, you will learn to prepare dimsums. This is an exclusive chinese recipe and one side of it is steamed and other side is pan fried. This dish is also known as potstickers as it tends to stick to the bottom of the pan. This dish is usually served with tea. There are lots of variation in dimsums. Here, chicken mince is used as stuffing but the vegetarian can use tofu or other vegetables for stuffing.

PREPARATION TIME – 20 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 30 MINUTES
SERVE FOR 4 PERSONS

INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING

Chicken mince - 400 gm
Chopped onion - 1 large cup
Julienne cut ginger - 2 tbsp full
Spring onion green - finely chopped - 1 large cup
Soy sauce - 2 tbsp
Chili sauce - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Sesame oil 2 tbsp

INGREDIENTS FOR DOUGH

Regular flour or rice flour - 3 large cups
Boiling water as much as required to prepare dough
Salt - 1 pinch
Cooking oil - 3 tbsp

PROCESS



Put flour in a mixing bowl, add salt and oil, mix by hands, slowly add boiling water, knead well if the temperature is cool enough to handle. Rest it for 10 minutes. You need a soft and smooth dough for the preparation.
Mix together all the ingredients of the filling.
Now take the dough and divide into 40 equal portions, roll on a flat board, place about 1 tsp filling in the center.
Using your fingers, moisten the edges of the circle with water and fold to form a half moon shape. Seal the edges together.
Prepare 40 dimsums in bite size portions of food.
Once the pan is hot, add 8 to 10 dimsums at a time, cook until the dimsums become golden brown in color, add half cup water to the pan. Cover instantly , simmer and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, the liquid juice will be evaporated gradually.
Plated the first lot of dimsums, clean the used pan for preparation of other lot, follow the same method for next preparationsi.
Serve hot with any sauce you like.
