Homemade Tomato Soup Recipes With Fresh Tomatoes


Tomato soup is one of the popular soup recipes in USA and Canada. I am going to teach you how to make tomato soup at home. I use green gram to make the soup thick, tasty & healthy. Some ground spices are used to enrich the fragrance of soup.

Given below step-by-step cooking process for making this homemade tomato soup.

INGREDIENT


Fresh red tomatoes – 500gm
Garlic flakes – 5
White pepper powder or freshly grind white pepper – 1 tsp
Tomato ketch up – 3 tsp
Cinnamon stick – 2
Cardamom – 2
Basil leaves – few
Boiled green gram – ½ cup
Kosher salt to taste
Sugar - 2 or 3 tsp
Fresh cream few drops
Butter – 1 tsp

PROCESS

In a presser cooker or sauce pan, put 3 large cups of water
Wash tomatoes and make a cross mark on top of each tomatoes
Boil for 5 minutes or give 1 presser and transfer into ice water & keep the boiling water aside
Now unpeel, the cross mark will help you to peel out the tomatoes easily
Chop tomatoes roughly and put into a blender
Add boiled green gram, salt and sugar
Run the blender for getting a smooth paste
Heat butter in a sauce pan
Add cinnamon stick and cardamom
Add mashed garlic flakes
Put the tomato paste and boiling water and add all other ingredients except butter and pepper and cream
Boil for 5 to 10 minutes
The soup will be medium thick
Add all other ingredients and serve hot
