SICILIAN CHOCOLATE ORANGE DESSERT -( ITALIAN HOT AND COLD DESSERT)


This dish is prepared with the combination of custard with fresh aroma of orange and melted chocolate. The dish is perfect for summer season. It tastes cold custard and hot chocolate together.

PREPARATION TIME - 15 MINUTES
COOKING TIME - 20 MINUTES
SERVE AS - 4 PERSONS.

INGREDIENTS

Orange juice -2 cups
Custard powder - 3 tbsp
Melted hot chocolate/ chocolate syrup - 1 cup
Deseeded Orange chopped - 1 cup
Sugar - half cup
Gelatin - 3 tbsp
Fresh cream - half cup

PROCESS

Mix custard powder with 1 cup orange juice and keep aside
In a heavy bottomed pan, add remaining orange juice with sugar, put on fire with moderate heat, add custard mixture, simmer and let it to boil, stir for minute. Remove form fire after mixture becomes thick, allow it to accomodate with the room temperature, keep in fridge
Sprinkle gelatin over the cream, let it becomes spongy, keep on fire to dissolve gelatin properly, cool the mixture.
Mix gelatin cream with cold custard and add chopped orange, keep in fridge unless it is ready to be served.
Keep the dessert out from fridge, pour hot chocolate or hot chocolate syrup on the cold dessert, serve immediately to cherish hot and cold taste simultaneously, decorate with fresh mint leaves
